The Vineyard.
Christoval Vineyards was established in 1985, with Cabernet and Riesling installed the first two fields. The original 2.5 acre Riesling field is still active and producing high quality Texas Riesling grapes. In 2008, San Angelo natives Drexell (“Drex”) and Nancy Vincent purchased the estate, with the vision on creating a destination for people who love wine and the outdoors. Since that time, the vineyard has been expanded to over 8 acres of vineyard, with 4 new varietals of grapes planted since that time. Drex actively operates the vineyard and manages the estate grounds. His artistic and architectural vision has led to what is truly a one of a kind wine and event destination in West Texas.
The Winery.
Winery operations began in 2010 with installation of the first on-site commercial fermentation tank. The winery and tasting room is operated by the Vincent’s sons, Blake and Bryan Vincent. Christoval Vineyards takes pride in making small run custom estate wines exclusively for our wine club members, as well production of our high quality Christoval Vineyards and Rambouillet brands. Bryan currently serves as the winemaker at Christoval Winery and has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Bryan has always had an interest in the culinary arts and wine, which was reignited after spending a year in the Edna Valley of California in 2008. Bryan focuses on developing wines that are easy to drink and pair well with West Texas and Southwestern cuisine. Blake actively manages the wine club and the tasting room operations.
The Event Center.
The 3,000 square foot French-inspired wine tasting room and event center is the center of activity for at Christoval Vineyards. The event center has three large patios with a relaxing fountain and pergola and a full catering kitchen. It’s pretty common to see Scout, the wine lab, lounging on the patio under the cover of massive live oaks that surround the facility. The relaxing and laid back atmosphere makes the center an ideal place to kick back and enjoy a glass of wine to the backdrop of the Vineyard and manicured grounds. In addition to regular wine tastings, the event center is home to private parties, weddings, and “Wine Member’s Only” private events after hours.
